Attestant Joins Bitwise

The next phase of the Attestant Journey

In the summer of 2019, when we first came together as a group, it’s fair to say that we didn’t know what our new venture would be or what it would do. But the one thing that we did know is that we wanted to find a way to contribute to the exciting digital innovation in the blockchain space. We all felt blockchains had the potential to transform society, and wanted to do our bit.

From the very first meeting, we knew our company had to be founded on values. We instinctively felt that if we stick to our values, and have them guide our decisions, we could be proud of what we would build as a business. Over the years Attestant has changed from a small start-up to a mature business with billions of dollars staked on our systems. But our values never changed: do what’s right for your customer, do what’s right for your employees, and do what’s right for the community.

When looking for a partner to move us forward to the next phase of Attestant’s development, the single most important factor for us was ensuring that we had alignment over values. There are so many great companies in the crypto space, many of which would make excellent partners for Attestant, but the firm we found ourselves most aligned with was Bitwise. Spend a few minutes talking with the team at Bitwise about crypto and their passion for the space and commitment to clients shines through, mirroring our own.

Attestant writes and open-sources our own multi-node validator client (Vouch), and distributed key signer (Dirk). Our software is used not just by us, but by many other staking firms and individual stakers across the world. Lido publishes data on the software used by their operators, at last count around 25% of Lido operators use Vouch. We wish to restate our commitment to ensuring that these and other products and libraries that are currently supported by Attestant (ESD, Go client libraries, ethdo, chaind, etc.) remain available and well supported. Bitwise shares our commitment to open source software development and serving the staking and broader Ethereum community.

For our customers our partnership with Bitwise will not change the service you’ve come to expect. We’ll continue to provide the same level of personal, white glove service, we always have. Doing what’s right for our customers has always been at the heart of everything we do.

Everyone at Attestant is excited by having the support of a great firm like Bitwise, and can’t wait to see what kind of future we build together.
